Good morning Carrboro
High School, my name is Gabby Adams. February is Black History Month.
Throughout this month, we will honor a new generation of black leaders and
black poets on the announcements. Each day, we will celebrate the legacy of
black Americans through either the reading of a poem or of a brief bio of an
inspirational black figure.
Henry Louis Gates Jr.-

African American experience. He is an Emmy-winning filmmaker, a cultural
critic, and a literary scholar. He has worked to produce documentaries, essays,

he has been groundbreaking- he was a member of the first class of Genius Grant
recipients and the first African American to win a National Humanities Medal.
