Student Announcements: January 31, 2020

DECA will be selling Valentine's with a twist in the Commons during lunch for the next two weeks to be delivered on Valentines Day.


Do you want to be cool? Then come out to AYM's crash course on what it means to be cool. Come to D120 Today during lunch to hear UNC students' perspectives on social life and social well being.There will be free pizza, and anyone is welcome

 

The fencing club will be holding a tournament in the gym Tuesday, February 4th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. It is open to anyone and is free of charge, though there will be concessions. Please come and support your fellow Jags!

A free Private Pilot Ground School (middle school or high school age or adult) will be offered at East Chapel Hill High School, Slant Room. Spring Sports will begin on February 12. Students who are interested in trying out must complete the online registration 

(https://registermyathlete.com/login/) , have a current physical exam on file and a completed Gfeller-Waller Concussion form. Students must have all three requirements completed before picking up a Ticket To Play.  Ticket to Play dates are February 6, 7 and 10. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON FEBRUARY 11 AT 3PM. For more information contact your head coach or Coach Ross, Athletic Director.

Do you want free pizza? Three classes can win a pizza party during our Donations for Australia Fundraiser! Over 1 billion animals have been displaced by the wildfires in Australia and fire season is far from over. You can make a difference—Tuesday January 28th through February 7th bring money for the jar in your 4th period class or venmo Emery-Hoos with your 4th period teacher in the description! All donations will go to the New South Wales Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service and the Community Enterprise Foundation: Bushfire Appeal.

Do you have what it takes to win it all in the first ever CHS Lip Sync Battle?  Today is the last day for students to sign up to perform.  Don't miss out on the chance to face off against your peers and possibly a member of the CHS faculty and staff.


Interested in what College or life after High school is like? Come to room D120 Today during lunch for an Ask Me Anything with UNC students. There will be FREE Pizza and Cheerwine Floats! Anyone is welcome to come hang out and - Ask a College Student Anything.

 

Snowball is this Saturday from 8-11pm here in the CHS commons. Tickets are 1 for $15, 2 for $20, or a ticket and a shirt for $20. This is the last dance of the year that is open to the entire student body and everyone who purchases a ticket will be entered into a raffle to win a TV. Check out the booth at lunch today or find an SGA member throughout the day.

Interested in a career in medicine? There will be a presentation by the Duke University nursing students on nurse anesthesia on Tuesday, January 21 in the media center during lunch. You may bring your lunch with you.


Students who would like to earn service hours can go to the far end of the student parking lot tomorrow at 4pm (right after school) to help prepare a site to receive the Project Graduation storage container. Please report to Tiki Gwynne at the site if you are interested in helping.
