Good morning,

Yoga Club will meet on TODAY during lunch. Look for us on the stage, C114 or outside the C-wing doors! Mats available. No experience necessary. De-stress with us! Namaste

Boro Blowout Information -- READ CAREFULLY!
  • Here is the SCHEDULE for Boro Blowout, which is this Friday, April 28th!!
    • Session Rosters and Locations will be posted later this week. These will reflect those students who registered during the registration window.
  • Never registered for sessions?
    • Visit the SGA tables located in each wing during 4th period and in the commons during lunch. SGA representatives will have pre-made hard copy schedules for you to select from based on availability. This will be your official “pass” to the sessions on Friday. See Mr. Schendt with questions.
  • Friday will be a CLOSED CAMPUS. This means that you will need to pack a lunch OR bring money for a special “BBQ Blowout” menu and Kona Ice. See FLYER for details.
  • Dodgeball Participation - If you signed up to play in the annual dodgeball tournament, your attendance and participation in all three Boro Blowout Sessions is mandatory. Students will receive a specialized wristband at each session to confirm their participation. Any student without all three wristbands will not be eligible to play in their team’s opening round game.
  • Dress Code Reminder - Please remember that all students are still expected to abide by the CHS Dress Code on this day. This is particularly important for those planning to participate in the Dunk Tank and other outdoor activities. Swimsuits are strictly forbidden and all other attire should be school appropriate. CHS administration and faculty will be enforcing this and reserve the right to make a final decision regarding the appropriateness of your attire.

Seniors - Interested in international opportunities? Cool to think that this time next year you could be exploring the Amazon, working rehabilitating rescued animals and dreaming in Spanish. If you want to learn a new language, explore a new culture, apprentice in an area of your interest, and become part of a family half a world away, Global Citizen Year might be the program for you! Global Citizen Year Fellows live and work alongside locals in Brazil, Ecuador, Senegal or India for eight months in between high school and college. The world is your oyster-sauce; final deadline to apply is deadline May 10th! Come learn more about Global Citizen Year this Friday during lunch in Mr. Schendt’s Room E218.

It’s never too late! Your Great Gatsby Prom is this Saturday at Chatham Mills. Today is the last day to buy tickets in the Cafe Commons.  Please see Ms. Marro if you need financial assistance with buying a prom ticket or a dress.

A representative from Durham Technical Community College will be on campus Friday, April 21, from 12:00Noon-3:45PM in room C114 (The Black Box).  Program information and handouts, for College Promise, CTE Pathways, College Transfer, Placement Testing, and Scholarships will be shared.  Questions should be directed to Dr. Wooten, at bwooten@chccs.k12.nc.us. 

Your Great Gatsby Prom is this Saturday at Chatham Mills. We have extended ticket sales to this week during lunch in the Cafe Commons.  Please see Ms. Marro if you need financial assistance with buying a prom ticket or a dress.

Seniors, due to extenuating circumstances, this year’s prom will not celebrate individuals for prom king and queen. Instead, this year’s prom will celebrate every student in attendance.

Hey everyone, please come out and audition for the Theatre 4 class's 10-year review - 10 scenes and 10 songs from the last 10 years of Carrboro Theatre's Mainstage shows. It will be a small, weekly commitment, and we want as many people as possible! Auditions are today at lunch and after school in the Blackbox (C-114)! If you wish to have a singing role, please bring a verse and a chorus, but if you don't want to sing, just bring yourself!  The audition sign-up is on the daily announcements email.

Attend an elegant evening at your Great Gatsby Prom on April 22nd at Chatham Mills. Today is the last day to buy tickets during lunch in the Cafe Commons! Please see Ms. Marro if you need financial assistance with buying a prom ticket.

Today is the last day to win a free prom ticket! If you bought a ticket any day this week, you will be entered into a drawing announced today to receive a refund on your purchased prom ticket. Tickets are on sale during lunch. The winner will be notified at the end of the day.

The Armed Services Aptitude Test Battery will be given Wednesday, April 12, at Chapel Hill High School. This is a wonderful aptitude test to help identify your academic strengths and there is no commitment to the military. Four critical areas are tested-- Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge.  Scores from these areas count towards the Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score.
Next week is National Library Week so we will be concluding the week with our 7th annual Edible Books Contest. This contest is open to students and staff.  To participate, all you have to do is create an edible representation of a book. Bring it by the library in the morning on Thursday, April 13.

Coy Maddry Memorial Scholarship applications are available from Coach Ross.  This is a faith based student athlete scholarship of $1,000.00 administered by the Orange United Methodist Church of Chapel Hill. Deadline is May 5

The Armed Services Aptitude Test Battery will be given Wednesday, April 12, at Chapel Hill High School. This is a wonderful aptitude test to help identify your academic strengths and there is no commitment to the military. Four critical areas are tested-- Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge.  Scores from these areas count towards the Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score.
