Student Announcements: October 24, 2019

You're invited to JagTheatre's Party Season!  "Clue: On Stage" runs tonight at 7:30 PM, Friday, October 25th at 6:00 PM, and Saturday, October 26th at 7:30 PM.  Everyone has a motive in this comedic, murder mystery. Follow the clues to see if you can solve the crime. Tickets are only $5 for students and $10 for adults and can be purchased at the link in your announcements. Students can take your Friday night show ticket to the football gate to receive a $2 discount off your game ticket.  CHCCS employees can reserve your 1 free ticket using the additional link in the announcements. @carrborohigh_theatre


Carrboro High School's annual CultureFest is coming up! This year's event will be held on Thursday, November 14th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, so mark your calendars now! More information is available on our school website!


Hey Jaguars! It's time for Winter Cheer! If interested please stop by the CIC to see Coach Baker, or pick up an information packet outside her door. Tryouts will be 10-31 and 11-1 from 4:10-5:15. Please ensure that you register  on carrborojaguars.com and pick up your ticker to play. Go Jags!


Application for the National Honor Society is now open to all eligible students. You must be a current Junior or Senior with a weighted GPA of 3.8 and have 60 Service Learning hours. Please note that having those two requirements does not guarantee admission. The application is online this year, and it must be submitted by 4:00 PM on Friday, November 1.

Attention Students who have registered for Swimming: Potential Team Members will be evaluated for three days beginning October 30 on the following criteria: 1) Perform all four strokes legally, 2) Dives into the pool, 3) Turns and 4) Time Trials on the 50 freestyle and 100 IM. All students, especially seniors:  have you considered teaching as a career?  If you have any interest, you should attend an interest meeting this fall to hear from some of your CHS teachers who have gone through the NC Teaching Fellows program, which provides up to $8,250/yr in forgivable loans and unique training and enrichment opportunities.  Email Mr. Harkey - mharkey@chccs.k12.nc.us - to indicate your interest, and we will have an interest meeting in Student Services Thurs. 10/31.

Hey Jags! CultureFest is coming up soon! It's time to start working on your submissions for the CultureFest Film Showcase. Please submit a short 2-3 minute video about an international current event or a cultural feature. Submissions are due to Mr. Fernandez-Schendt by Friday, November 9th. After School tutoring will be in the Media Center TODAY at 4pm.  Bus transportation is available to students. All students are welcome to come! See you there!
