Student Announcements: April 11, 2019

Application for the National Honor Society is now open to all eligible students. You must be a current or rising Junior with a weighted GPA of 3.8 and have 60 Service Learning hours. Please note that having those two requirements does not guarantee admission. Download an application here and submit to Ms. Barkdolloni in TLC1 before 4 pm tomorrow.


Tomorrow is the LAST day of the book drive. To clarify, ALL books of any genre or age group are accepted. Boxes to donate books are located in English classes or in the library for those not taking English and for Staff.  Here's your chance to win RISE donuts! "Blue Ribbon YLI (pronounced "why-lie") will have a meeting today during lunch in D217. Students will be participating in a service-learning project of writing pen pal letters to students at Scroggs elementary school. Students who need service-learning hours should attend! Looking for a class to add to your course registration?  Take a Theatre, Technical Theatre course, or Honors Global Cinema and Filmmaking.  Sign up for a course when you register, and speak with Ms. Stegall in C114 if you have questions.  There's a place for everyone!


NATIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARY WEEK IS HERE! Appreciate and celebrate the resources, research expertise, and the promotion of literacy in your school library. Make sure to thank your Librarian and our dynamic Library Assistant all week long! Join us TODAY in the Media Center for our Big Book Giveaway and Library Trivia! Tomorrow, we will wrap up our celebration with Fine Free Friday and our annual Edible Books Competition! Turn in any overdue books and get your fines waived! Bring in your best food creations to represent your favorite book. Voting will take place at lunch for the best creations and top prizes will be awarded!

The ASVAB will be given at East Chapel Hill High on April 24 at 9am in the Media Center. Register by April 19 to take the test http://bit.ly/2V9OymY.


Are you the best of the best? Elevate your school spirit and athleticism by participating in cheerleading. There will be an interest meeting on April 17th in room D121 during lunch.
