"The Carrboro Jazzuars have an open jazz session in the band room today! Anyone is welcome to come listen or play along. This is our last hoorah of April (Jazz Appreciation Month), so don't miss it!"


Mrs. Barry's class invites you to our Art History exhibit!  Please come to our opening reception at Preservation Chapel Hill this Sunday from 2-4pm!
The exhibit is located at the Horace Williams House - 610 E Rosemary St, Chapel Hill, NC 27514   Refreshments will be served!

There are a group of Karen refugees from Myanmar (Burma) who  were CHS students or who are about to graduate that would like to make a trip to Thailand to reconnect with our culture as well as long lost family and friends whom remain in refugee camps. How can you help?  There will be a food (Asian, Thai, Karen) fundraising event this upcoming Saturday April 30th from 9am to 2pm @ Transplanting Traditions Community Farm 2912 Jones Ferry Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.  You can get a ticket from: Mr. Hite,Tay Nay Sar, Eh Mu Ra, Mu Eh Pay, Paw Ray and Ser Gay Paw.  One can also donate directly at: https://www.gofundme.com/ghx4mp3w  Thank you for your support!

Tickets are at their final price of $80 for a couple and $55 for a single.
The last day to buy is April 29 (HURRY!) and make sure your forms for a non Carrboro junior/senior date are in by 4pm that day too! Contact Ms. Dumaine with questions
Also, parking at the Carolina Inn is available, but will be $5. Keep that in mind when making your plans.


Attention: people who want to wear a tux to prom! Men’s Warehouse is offering a fundraiser for our Prom 2016.  We will get a portion of the proceeds for every tux rented by a Carrboro High School student.  Make sure you let them know that you are from CHS when you go to get fitted, and you can also ask about being a prom rep to earn yourself a free tux rental.  


The SECU club is collecting small, travel sized toiletries (like the ones in hotel rooms) to place in the guest rooms at the SECU family house.  Please consider donating some of these items. You can bring them into the main office.  



Seeking JAGs and JAG Administrators(SPOTs) for the 16-17 School Year. Our goal is $5,000  We have raised $1150 thus far.   There will be a Silent Auction on the night of Saturday May 14th at CHS.

Join the CHS Global Issues class today, April 26 from 7 pm - 8:30 pm in the commons for an Oxfam Banquet. Food will be provided. Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults and free for faculty and staff. See you there!   


On April 27th, the CHS Red Cross Club is hosting a blood drive at the school! If you are at least 16 years old, you can sign up outside the library during lunch starting April 11th through April 26th. Help save lives and sign up!

Student Announcements for Wednesday, April 20th

Good morning,


You may feel quite removed from the events in Japan and Ecuador but every other year 20 Carrboro High students travel to Bahia de Caraquez in Ecuador to work on a reforestation project.  These students know of the generosity we receive when in their city.  Well now Bahia could use our help.  They need clean water and emergency supplies to make it through this difficult time.  You can donate directly to the relief effort being coordinated by GSE in Bahia by going to Mr. Klakovich's website or bring cash donations to room D214.  Thank you.

Attention EVERYONE! Boro Blowout is scheduled for April 22nd. This is our day-long celebration and stress reliever before exams. It includes fun inflatables, tons of free food, cool sessions, and raffle prizes all day. 


Audition for “An Unspeakable Triumph of Supreme Brilliance,” a light-hearted comedy produced and directed by the CHS theater 4 class. This is the last chance to participate in the 2015-2016 show this season, so come on out! Do not prepare a monologue; just bring yourself and some friends!
Auditions will be held Wednesday, April 20th, and Thursday, April 21st, during lunch and after school from 4:00 - 6:00 in the theater. Please note that this production is open to ALL high school students. If you plan to audition, please fill out this form.
