The Blue Ribbon Youth Leadership Institute will have its first meeting TODAY during lunch in Mr. Murchison's room (D217) YLI meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Come for information on college prep, field trips and other enrichment activities!  Alfredo's pizza will be provided.


Movement of Youth prepares diverse youth to lead and succeed in the 21st Century through mentoring by current college students. Opportunities include college tours, international travel via the J.U.S.T Global Fellowship, and college scholarships. Students--do you speak another language fluently and could help guide parents through their student's schedule at Open House tomorrow night?  Please email or see Ms. Jackson in the front office. Leave your name and the language you speak. You would need to be a guide for a family from around 6:45 to 8:30.  Service learning hours provided.

Seniors - Due to our abbreviated schedule, it is a CLOSED campus for lunch today. You must remain on campus for lunch.


Because of transportation issues, after-school tutoring has been postponed and will begin on Tuesday, September 25th. Tutoring days are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 pm, in the Media Center. There will be buses available to take students home. Any questions, see or email Dr. Morais in D114.


The University of Pennsylvania representative visit scheduled for today has been cancelled.


The college fair scheduled for tonight has been POSTPONED! A makeup date will be announced soon.

Scroggs Frogs are in need of  help. We are looking for responsible, high school helpers to come to Scroggs in the morning from about 7:25-8:25 am to work with our students. We will meet in Room 108 at Scroggs each morning to work with students on classwork, reteach them a tricky concept, or just be a positive influence.  The number of times you help out is up to you; you are welcome once a week or as many times as you want. The main thing is for you to be a friendly face, willing to jump in and do something different each time you help out. Overall Carrboro brought home 3 first place plaques, one of our best invitational performances in a very long time, winning 3 out of the 4 races!

CHS Theatre's season theme is Facing Giants; we will be producing Twelve Angry Jurors in the fall and Into the Woods in the spring.  Students interested in being a part of the fall play should visit https://tinyurl.com/jagtheatre to learn more, and sign up before this Sunday, September 9th.  For the fall play, audition and tech priority goes to students in a course, but any student may come to auditions to gain experience and feedback or sign up to tech for service hours.


Are you interested in starting a club at CHS or bringing your club back for another year? It is that time of year where club proposals are due by September 17. The Sophistikeys will be holding auditions next week in the chorus room. This is your chance to become part of CHS's new all-female a capella group. Auditions will be the 12th and 13th - sign up outside the chorus room or contact a leader! Can't wait to jam with y'all!!
