Student Announcements: March 22, 2019

All National Honor Society Seniors must purchase graduation cords BY THE  END OF THE DAY. See Ms. Barkdollini outside the Media Center before school and at lunch. The order will be sent next week and no further orders will be placed.

The JagWire is accepting applications for new staff writers. In this elective course, you will be part of a student-run newspaper and online news source. Newspaper is a great class to seek leadership opportunities and grow authentically as a writer. OWASA's new Youth Water Academy. Students in grades 9-12 in Carrboro & Chapel Hill are invited to apply. Over 4 sessions in April, they'll learn from OWASA's engineers, operators, scientists, field crews and more, about the fascinating process of delivering the community's water. The Academy is free, and 12 spots are open. Deadline to apply is March 26.

Congratulations to the CHS DECA chapter for their performance in the state conference this weekend. All 30 attending members were scored proficient. We also had many finalists as well as International Competition qualifiers.

The RTP High School Sailing Team is looking for new sailors!

Are you a fearless mariner? Did you ever try sailing at summer camp? Have you always wanted to learn to sail? If your answer is yes to any of these - and you know how to swim! - then consider joining our co-ed high school sailing team!

The Spring season starts March 12. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 (or as soon as you can arrive) until dark at Lake Crabtree County Park, 1400 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville, NC. Carpooling is possible. Fee is prorated to $150 for Spring season.

Travel Opportunity for Summer 2019 or 2020! Through CIEE's Summer Abroad programs, you have access to a life-changing experience. For 3 or 4 weeks this summer, you can step into another culture and learn a new language, engage in meaningful service projects, or to dive into global discovery in fields such as marine ecology, biodiversity & conservation, arts, government or global entrepreneurship. Scholarships are available for our programs, based on both merit and financial need. An informational session that will be held this Thursday during lunch in Room E218. March is National Athletic Training Month! As stated before, athletic trainers work in various settings. By the year 2022, the Marine Corps plans to employ more than 60 athletic trainers in the operating forces!


The RTP High School Sailing Team is looking for new sailors!

Are you a fearless mariner? Did you ever try sailing at summer camp? Have you always wanted to learn to sail? If your answer is yes to any of these - and you know how to swim! - then consider joining our co-ed high school sailing team!

The Spring season starts March 12. Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 (or as soon as you can arrive) until dark at Lake Crabtree County Park, 1400 Aviation Parkway, Morrisville, NC. Carpooling is possible. Fee is prorated to $150 for Spring season.

Schools in the district are currently competing in a food drive to help families in the local area. Help us win the competition against the other schools by bringing in canned or non-perishable goods and placing them in the box outside the Media Center. Travel Opportunity for Summer 2019 or 2020! Through CIEE's Summer Abroad programs, you have access to a life-changing experience. For 3 or 4 weeks this summer, you can step into another culture and learn a new language, engage in meaningful service projects, or to dive into global discovery in fields such as marine ecology, biodiversity & conservation, arts, government or global entrepreneurship. Scholarships are available for our programs, based on both merit and financial need. An informational session that will be held this Thursday during lunch in Room E218. A representative from CIEE will be here to share more information about their program.

The Jaguar March Madness Trivia Contest starts March 14.The winner will receive a beautiful gift basket courtesy of the Jaguar Athletic Dept.
