Student Announcements: March 20, 2019

Please listen carefully to this important announcement from our School Nurse: We are at the height of flu season.  If you are not feeling well please stay home. If you have any of the following symptoms, you should stay home or if already at school go home.  Fever or feeling feverish/chills. cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue (tiredness), nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. If you have a fever you must be stay home for 24 hours after the fever breaks. It is the only way we can stop viruses from spreading.


Prom is April 13th at the Governor's Club. Purchase your prom tickets for $45 per person this week during lunch OR online. The cost will go up to $50 after spring break. If the cost of a ticket would prevent you from attending prom, see April Crider in the CIC for information about reduced ticket prices.


Are you a Junior or Senior who wants to attend Prom on April 13th but can't afford the cost of the dress?  Cinderella's Closet is here for you! Cinderella's Closet offers a full prom gown package for free! Please see Ms. Crider in Student Services to get an application.  Applications are due on April 2nd.


All National Honor Society Seniors must purchase graduation cords this week. See Ms. Barkdollini outside the Media Center before school and at lunch. The order will be sent next week and no further orders will be placed.

The Red Cross Club is holding a Blood Drive on April 4th. Visit the table in front of the Media Center during lunch for details!


Wanna get published? Jagged Lines, the Carrboro High School literary magazine, is currently accepting submissions for the Spring 2019 edition. Send your short stories, poems, visual art, photography, and other publishable works to CHSJaggedLines@gmail.com. The submission deadline had been extended to March 22nd. Feel free to email if you have questions about submissions.


This message is for any student interested in taking CCP courses with Durham Tech next school year. There will be a mandatory information session today during lunch in room D217. The session will start promptly at 12:35 pm. Feel free to bring your lunch.
