Student Announcements: October 31, 2018

There will be a MANDATORY meeting of The National Honor Society Thursday, November 1st in Rubenstein's room (D218). This is a major organizational meeting and will be led by the new officers. All are expected to attend.


The Jagwire is interested in learning about Carrboro student's winter traditions, specifically food. If you are open to sharing a recipe to be put in the newspaper, email Olivia Weigle


In the midst of voting season, CHS Theatre invites you to view Twelve Angry Jurors this Thursday, November 1st through Saturday, November 3rd at 7:30 PM.  Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and free for CHCCS Faculty/Staff.  They can be purchased at jagtheatre.seatyourself.biz.  Faculty/Staff can reserve 1 free ticket at tinyurl.com/chs12angryjurors.


Interested being a part of the CHS Winter One-Acts? You're in luck! Xanadu Productions is holding auditions for our One-Acts on November 5th or 7th with callbacks on November 8th from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Auditorium. All students are welcome. Ever daydream about being a notable author? Then sign up for (Na-no-wry-mo) NaNoWriMo, a month long challenge to write an entire novel in just 30 days!   Staff and Students are encouraged to sign up, set a daily word count goal, and WRITE, WRITE, WRITE all month long!!  Showcase your progress on the leaderboard in the library and enhance writing skills by participating in NaNoWriMo November! Today's the last day to sign up in the Media Center.

Mark your calendars the 2018 Homecoming Celebration is next week. Start the week off by supporting your best spirit wear by participating in the daily themes: Character Monday, Wacky Wednesday, Jersday Thursday, and Class color day. Then join us Friday November 9 for a Homecoming Pep Rally, Homecoming and Senior night football game, and close out the night with the homecoming celebration in the commons from 9-11:30. Keep your eyes out for tickets very soon for the celebration after the football game. Tickets will be 1 for $10 or 2 for $15.


It is with great excitement that we announce the date and details of our annual CultureFest. This year's event will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, so mark your calendars now! For those new to our school community or those who haven't participated before, this night is aimed at celebrating our school's diverse community and sharing parts of our culture with each other through food, discussion, and entertainment. The AIS Council is excited to also announce a new event coming to CHS this year! CultureFest 2018 will now feature the CultureFest Film Showcase. Students who may be interested in submitting an original short film about a current event or international issue should use the interest form is attached in your announcements email: Film Showcase Interest Form.
