Student Announcements: October 18, 2018

  • There will be a SkillsUSA meeting in Ms. Landis' Room, E115, today during lunch beginning at 12:40 pm. Students interested in participating in SkillsUSA this school year should attend.


  • Freshman - do you want to be a part of the Powder Puff Football?  Check your email today and complete the survey telling us, your Freshman Class Council, how you would like to be involved.

  • Help support our school's amazing band program! Eat at Al's Burger Shack in Southern Village on Tuesday, October 23 between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m., mention the Carrboro High School Band, and a portion of the proceeds will support our program.

  • Special Olympics Club meeting Friday during lunch in D122.  Grab your lunch & join us!

  • A representative from UNC Greensboro will be in the CIC on Monday, Oct. 22 at 11am. Sign up in the CIC if interested.

  • NC Free College Application Week is this week until Friday October 19 in the CHS Media Center. Please sign up for an application session using the link in your email. See your email for an informational flyer, and feel free to contact someone in the CIC with any questions.

  • There will be a meeting of the National Honor Society today during lunch in Ms. Rubenstein's room (D218). Members interested in holding an office should come prepared with a short presentation for your peers.

  • The CHS Quiz Bowl Club is looking for new members! Anyone interested is welcome to come to our meetings on Fridays during lunch in E216.

  • The Minority Student Union meets today at lunch in Mr. Murchison's room (D217).

  • Student of the Week: Adrian Ornelas- Adrian helps his classmates in the EL Math I class. He's kind and very easy to work with. He's been in US schools for one year, but he's taking Civics, Biology, Math, etc. A full, challenging course load! He goes to Smart Lunches several times a week. He also works a tough, physical job after school and on weekend. A truly lovely young man.

  • The Smart Lunch subject today is Social Studies

  • The School Media Center will be closed for a half day TODAY through lunch.  The Library will resume normal operating hours in the afternoon beginning 5th period.

  • Congratulations to the Jaguar Volleyball team...we took down Science and Math last night 3-1 in the finals of the Mid-State Conference Tournament. NCSSM beat us twice in the regular season (3-0, 3-2). Brackets for the state playoffs will come out Monday.  Go Jags!

  • Good luck to Jaguar Field Hockey at Cardinal Gibbons today 6:30pm
