Student Announcements: February 23, 2018

If you are creative and are interested in pursuing a career in the expanding field of technology, then consider taking a CHS Adobe Academy course. These courses are part of CHS's Career Technical Education (CTE) elective course offerings, and provide opportunities to build valuable skills in the areas of Graphic Design; Photography; Web Design and Development; Animation; Game Design; Video, Cinematography and Audio Production using Adobe software.

Adobe Visual Design, Adobe Digital Design and Adobe Video Design are available with honors credit options. In addition, these courses provide opportunities for students to become ACA Certified in the following globally recognized Adobe software programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Animate and Premiere.

Professional skills in this program of study are further enhanced through participation in CHS's SkillsUSA program. SkillsUSA members develop into well-rounded people with technical, academic and employability skills that will help them get a job and have a successful career.

For more information about Adobe Academy courses or participation in our CHS SkillsUSA chapter, please see Ms. Landis, in E115.

Applications are due today for Planned Parenthood, Teen Connections program.  Please see Ms. Crider if you have questions.

A representative from Greensboro College will visit CHS Tuesday, February 27th at 1:30pm in the CIC. Sign up to attend the visit in the white notebook in the CIC. Greensboro college offers a free online application, with a decision being made within just two weeks. The application is very short and should just take you about 20-30 minutes to complete. Also, all students will automatically be considered for merit scholarships at the time of acceptance without having to fill out an additional application. Our merit scholarships range from $5,000 to a full ride.

Seniors, this is your last chance to submit a quote for the yearbook.  If you missed out in the fall, you have through 4:00 PM today to complete the survey linked in the announcements. There is also a linked list that indicates who has submitted.  Changes have been requested of some submissions, so be sure to check your email and make corrections so you don't miss out.  We have extended senior ads for the yearbook through today. Families can buy and design online at jostens.com.  Keep an eye out for emails and announcements regarding seniors connections, senior superlatives and club photos.

Yearbooks are still on sale.  As there are only 100 left, we are looking to sell out this year, so don't miss out. Personalizations can be made through tomorrow.
