We are doing a campaign "Spread the Word to End the Word". The "R" word is "retard" when it's used to insult others. When it's used as an insult, it hurts our feelings. People with Intellectual Disabilities are as important as anyone else. Please accept the pledge of the r-word. Go on the internet to take the pledge. It takes less than a minute! http://www.r-word.org/r-word- take-action.aspx#.VVNZYvm-2m4 Click on the orange "Pledge and be Heard" box. We hope you take the pledge and never say the R-word again!

"Researchers from UNC and RTI Inc are conducting some brief research during the lunch hour on Thur, May 21st. The research consists of using a school lunch pre-ordering website, giving them feedback, and completing a brief, 10-question survey to give us your opinion. Participation is anonymous, should take 15 minutes or less, and each participant will receive a $25 Amazon gift card for their time. We can only take 5 students, and we'll schedule them on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're interested, emaillunch101.carrboro@gmail. com or call or text (980) 320-0655."
