3rd Annual Shack-a-thon - Tomorrow, Friday, May 8, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Haitat for Humanity Club is hosting its third annual Shack-a-thon event on the Southern Village Green on May 8, 2015. Habitat for Humanity Club members will compete in a fun and friendly cardboard shack-building competition. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help build a new home for a local family which spent seven years in a refugee camp in Thailand in order to escape the political unrest in their home country of Myanmar. The mother said she is delighted to have the opportunity to raise her children in a safe, decent, and affordable home here in Orange County, and we are all happy to be a part of this process!

Enjoyed watching the Murals being created or worked on them yourselves?
We are connecting this to a Water Project in the Dominican Republic fundraising effort that we are continuing on as a natural extension and also it will give back to the region from where the muralists live.
We will be collecting donations during 1st Period today..
The Dominican Republic Water Project fundraising so far has gotten us to about $7,400 out of our goal of at least $15,000.  On the night of May 26th (a Tuesday) from 6pm to 8pm, we are hosting a Silent Auction & Mural Unveiling with an evening of Art, Music, Food and Fellowship. we are currently soliciting items for the Silent Auction.
