A Message from Principal LaVerne Mattocks for the week of September 15 - 19

A message from CARRBORO HIGH SCHOOL

This is Principal LaVerne Mattocks with updates for Carrboro High School families. Since the accountability measures have received approval from the State Board of Education, Carrboro High School is pleased to announce that our school Exceeded Expected Growth. We are hopeful that the upward trend in all measures of student success continues and we thank you for the role you've played in supporting both our students' and teachers' hard work.

(1) Students, please note this week we will have Smart Lunch only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, due to the specialized schedules on Thursday, September 18, and Friday, September 19. Remember to speak with your teachers and refer to the Smart Lunch activity schedule to plan accordingly.
(2) Wednesday, September 17, Carrboro High School hosts Open House/Back to School Night beginning at 6:00.  There will be a brief welcome in the auditorium before parents are able to follow their child's schedule to visit classrooms and meet teachers.  We hope everyone is able to attend!
(3)Thursday, September 18, is a Delayed Opening Day for all CHCCS schools.  Carrboro High School students should report to bus stops and school two-hours later than usual.  For consistency across the district, Carrboro High School will operate on the same Delayed Opening Schedule as in past years.
(4) Friday, September 19, Carrboro High School will follow the same Friday Following Delayed Opening Class Schedule with a slight modification in the afternoon to host Jaguar Jump-In.  Student clubs and organizations (during Jaguar Jump-In) will have information tables and exhibits to inform all students of the opportunities at Carrboro High School.

If you have questions about any of these announcements, please contact the main office at (919) 918-2200
Thank you for all your support and continued cooperation.
