Student Announcements: May 14, 2018

TODAY!!!  During lunch, former Carrboro High School student, Justin Laatz will be in the CIC to talk with any interested students and teachers about ROTC and his experience in the program.  Please be sure to come and learn more!!


We will be having a Silent Auction (Goods & Services) fundraising event in support of the Ugandan Water Project with food, music, auctioning, and fun on the afternoon of Sunday May 27th from 2pm to 4pm at Carrboro High School.  We have a goal of between $6,000 and $8,000.

CHS's own Theatre 4 class is producing a show addressing the issue of gun violence. The show includes a set of monologues, poems, and scenes as well as an original documentary about the student voice events that occurred in March and April. The show is on Friday, May 18th at 7:30. Congratulations to Zach Anderson and Andre Javan, 2018 2A NCHSAA Tennis Doubles State Champions! They defeated the Hartzell brothers from Ledford, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 on Saturday.

We play NCSSM in Dual Team Tennis 3rd Round today at 4pm.. Good Luck Jags!


Men's Lacrosse ended their season with a tough loss to New Hanover, 10-12 on Friday.  Great run in the Playoffs!


Men's and Women's Track Teams both earned a second place finish in the 2A MidEast Regional Championship Saturday.  Congrats to all the Regional Champions: Elise Deshusses, Cora Van Raay, Madeline Ramsden, Emery Hoos, Ajani Murdaugh-Wright (200 & 400), Ben Rader, Women's 4x100, Women's 4x800, Men's 4x400.


Men's and Women's Track State Championships will be held on Saturday May 19 at NC A&T.


Congratulations to the Women's Soccer team, advancing to the 3rd round by defeating DSA in a thrilling OT match, we won 4-2 PK's.


We will play home on Tuesday May 15 vs Roanoke Rapids at 6pm. Good luck to all our teams this week!
