Student announcements - May 15, 2017


Good morning,

Congratulations to Andre Jovan and Jason Wykoff on their outstanding performance at the State Tennis Tournament.  We lost a three set match to Brevard in the Championship Finals.

Congratulations to the Women's Soccer team, we defeated Bartlett Yancey 8-0 advancing to the 3rd Round vs First Flight on Wed. May 17. Home match 6pm. Admission is $6.

Congratulations to the Men's Track Team, Regional Champions!  Quinton Adams and Jack Clemens won double events on Sat.  Congrats to the Women's Track Team for their performance. Several members made States!

Congratulations to the Men's Lacrosse Team for an outstanding season. We lost to Cedar Ridge 10-5 on Friday in the 3rd round. 


Good luck to the Men's Tennis Team  today vs NC School of Science & Math.  This is the 3rd Round of Dual competition. 4pm at Whippoorwill Park in Durham

The Carrboro High School Academy of International Studies would like to invite you to attend the 9th Grade' Spring Research Poster Presentations on May 17, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. This is a floating event, so please join us at your convenience.  
Students will be stationed with their posters to answer questions and elaborate on their research.  We will also have QR codes to provide feedback to the students on their work. Please visit your app store to download a free QR code reader to your smartphone or tablet prior to the event.

Peer Buddy Program interest meeting is tomorrow during lunch.  Carrboro High School is happy to continue the Peer Buddy program and is looking for mentors for the 2017-2018 academic year.  This program is designed to bring students together for support and friendship. Students will meet with their buddy once a week during lunch or another arranged time. Service learning hours will be given to all students who are participating in the Peer Buddy program.  Training will be provided for all students who wish to mentor and support a peer. The purpose of this program is to promote inclusion of all students. Peer Buddy Programs facilitate friendships, build leadership skills and promote acceptance, understanding and awareness of differences among students.

Hey everyone! Come out and see the final show at CHS this year.  For the school’s 10th anniversary, the Theatre IV class has put together a review of shows from the past ten years.  This features 10 scenes and 10 songs from the 20 shows performed in Carrboro's history. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and free for CHCCS employees. The show dates are May 19th and 20th at 7:30 PM, and May 21st at 2:30 PM.  We look forward to seeing you there!
