Are you interested in taking a gap year between high school and college? If so, please come to Mr. Cone's room (E221) today, Thursday at the start of lunch to hear from a representative from the Global Citizen Year program.
All students interested in Spring Sports must submit a current physical exam, concussion form and have their parents register them online. The DEADLINE is February 17 for the online registration. After the registration ends, the student will need to speak with the head coach. Most teams will cut their roster by Wed. Feb. 15. See Coach Ross if you have any questions.

"CHS is partnering with East and Chapel Hill for the 2017 Dance Marathon for Charity! Join us on February 18th, from 6 to 12PM at East Chapel Hill High for an awesome, non-stop night of dancing, food and activities. On Monday , Tuesday and Wednesday of next week counselors will conduct registration meetings for freshman, sophomores and juniors respectively. On Monday freshmen with last names A-M will meet during A lunch and students with last names N-Z will meet during B lunch. Sophomores will meet Tuesday and Juniors will meet Wednesday with the same alphabetical split. The registration period will end in mid March, 2017 (Turner)

Emmett Till (2/9)
- Emmett Till was born July 25, 1941 in Chicago Illinois. Emmett Tills life is one that often goes unrecognized in history. Emmett Till was murdered in 1955 by two white men in Money, Mississippi for flirting with a white woman. The two men whom were the murders were “not guilty”. This case highlighted and magnified the segregated south and severity of the Jim Crow system and laws. (Luecking)
