Student Announcements: February 27, 2019

February is CTE Month and to express the importance of our CTE programs here at CHS the CTE department has joined forces to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of our CTE programs and students. Each week in the month of February the CTE department will showcase one of its four program areas. Be sure to engage and support our CTE Month celebrations!


Need more service learning hours? Do you speak a language other than English? Volunteer as a translator at Registration Night March 4th at 6:30. Leave your name with Mrs. Jackson in the front office.


The following colleges will have representatives present on Tomorrow to meet with students during lunch from 12:30 to 1:10 in the CHS commons.  This is a great opportunity for CHS juniors to meet with representatives as they narrow their college search.

Come out this evening to learn about all that Durham Technical Community College has to offer. There will be a lot of information about earning college credit while in high school. 6 pm in the media center.


This is a reminder for all DECA members taking an exam for STATES. Please go to the Library during 5th or 6th period today, February 27 or 5th and 6th period February 28. If you are not sure please contact Ms. Francis or your leadership team.

DECA members should also stop by Ms. Francis room, E212, to pick up consent forms for Kenan-Flagler.

Congratulations to the Men's Basketball Team! We defeated Nash Cnetral last night in the 1st Round of the Playoffs, 74-50. We play Thursday Night at Goldsboro, time is TBA. Congrats Jags!


Cancellations and Changes:


Feb. 27:  The men's lacrosse match at Orange has been cancelled.

               Home Women's Soccer match vs Union Pines has been cancelled.


Feb. 28   Home Women's Lacrosse match vs Cary Acad.has been cancelled.

              The home men's tennis match vs Cardinal Gibbons is now

              changed to an away match. Dismissal at 3pm.
