Student Announcements: September 12, 2017

Do you like sea turtles? Do you want to get service hours protecting sea turtles nests in Costa Rica? Then come to an interest meeting for our Spring Break trip to Costa Rica in Mrs. Bulleri’s room, E224 Thursday at the beginning of lunch.

Listen up Freshmen, if you are interested in an officer position with Freshmen Class Council (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and several other positions) please come to D121 during B Lunch today!  We hope to start off the year strong and can explain the details of the council and its role in the school.  If you have any questions you can email Ms. Watson at kkwatson@chccs.k12.nc.us.

Hello Seniors,  If you are interested in running for an officer position for Senior Class Council you must email Ms. Marro at lmarro@chccs.k12.nc.us by this Friday September 15 to let her know what postion you would like to run for. The positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Fundraising Manager, Public Relations Officer, and Multi-Media Director. If you have any questions please let Ms. Marro know.
National Honor Society will have the first meeting of the year this WED , Sept . 13th , during A lunch in D219. All students interested in being an officer MUST attend this Mandatory meeting.

C-town shirts can be purchased during lunch $20 for students, $15 for staff/faculty.

Club forms are due September 25th to room E122.

Do you love to sing? Come audition for Carrboro’s co-ed acappella group, Unnecessary Measures, next week Monday-Wednesday in the chorus room! Sing just a verse of any song. Sign-ups are outside the chorus room.

YES!  CHS has a Peer Buddy program!  You will be able to sign up during Jaguar Jump In!  Service Learning Hours will be available. See Melissa Barry or John Hite with any questions.

Eco-Action will meet today after school in our community garden behind D wing. All are welcome. Have fun, meet new people and earn service hours!

Do you need homework help? Free after school tutoring starts this week. We meet in the Media Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 - 5pm. Our after school bus is NOT running yet, so you will need a ride home. The bus should start running in a few weeks. See you soon!

Seniors, Please make sure that you pay attention to  the urgent scholarship packet.  The packet will be emailed to your school email with dates and instructions for each scholarship.

Picture Day for all 9th, 10th, and 11th graders, as well as for Faculty/Staff, is today, Tuesday, September 12th in the Gym.  Students will come to the Gym with their English class.  Makeups for Senior portraits will be on Tuesday, September 19th in the Theater.  You should receive more information via email this  week.
