Introducing the CHCCS Olympics! This is an extremely exciting tournament between the three schools within the district, the first event is kickball on Saturday October 22. If you want to participate, we will be having trials for the selection of the team this Friday during A-lunch. Two teams of twenty will be selected so bring your A game.

All students interested in trying out for Winter Sports must register on 8to18, submit a current physical exam and concussion form BEFORE trying out.  See the Athletic Director if you have any questions.  Winter Sports begin on Oct. 31.


There is a swimming and diving team interest meeting tonight at Carrboro High on Thursday October 13, at 7:00 PM. Location is TBD.  All interested athletes and parents are encouraged to attend to meet the coaches and learn about the upcoming season.

There will be a meeting on Monday, October, 17th during B lunch for all interested in the Peer Buddy program.  This program is designed to bring students together for support and friendship by promoting inclusion of all students.  If you are interested in the Peer Buddy program, you can get an application from Mr. Makor in E114


Never before been out of the country? Frustrated because you feel like you can’t afford to go on summer trips? Our trip to Ecuador will be an eye opener for all and we have a whole year to fundraise and make this trip happen. Partial scholarships are available for those who qualify. Come to our second interest meeting TOMORROW at lunch in Mr. Klakovich’s room (D214)

Do you have an idea that will help solve a local environmental problem? UNCs Environmental Finance Center is sponsoring a grant writing contest and the winning proposal will get $500 for their project. Come to room D214 TODAY for a writing and brainstorming session.


Volunteers are needed this Friday afternoon starting at 3:15pm to help move books for Friends of Carrboro Library's annual book sale.  The event takes place in the cafetorium at McDougle Middle School.  If you can help, please e-mail Dolly Triantafillou at dolorest@bellsouth.net   Service Learning Hours are available.

Peer Buddy applications are due by Wednesday, Oct. 12th.  There will be a meeting on Friday during A lunch for all interested in the Peer Buddy program.  This program is designed to bring students together for support and friendship by promoting inclusion of all students.  If you are interested in the Peer Buddy program, you can get an application from Mr. Makor in E114. Do your part to reduce our school’s environmental impact and dispose of your lunch properly. We now compost dirty paper and food. There are student volunteers to help you use the proper cans. Today let CHS stand for COMPOST, HONOR and SUPPORT!

October is LGBT+ History Month SAGA is having a Who is this famous LGBT+ person?
This person came out in 1997.
This person was a judge on the 9th season of American Idol.
This person was the voice of Dory in Finding Nemo and Finding Dory
If you think you know who it is please write your answer, your first and last name, and your grade on a sheet of paper and put it in the box marked LGBT+ History Month in the front office by lunch.  There will be a prize for today’s winner!


This week, we have conference championships in Women's Golf and Women's Tennis. Today is our final home regular season field hockey match vs Chapel Hill @6pm.
