Principal's Message for the week of March 17th

As a result of the tumultuous weather we've experienced over the last month, all CHCCS high schools were forced to reschedule the ACT for this Tuesday, March 18th, for all eleventh graders.

This test is extremely important because it provides feedback for individual students as well as the school about our educational program. Additionally, NC uses the information obtained from the ACT as a part of the whole-school accountability measures. It is essential that all eleventh graders participate in this testing session. There will be no make up opportunity and CHS must show improvement in our participation measures. Parents, we are imploring you to ensure all eleventh graders are present and well-rested for the ACT on Tuesday, March 18th. If you have questions about the ACT and its significance, feel free to contact your child's administrator or counselor for clarification.

Tuesday, March 18th, CHCCS is hosting a Budget Focused Dialogue in the Carrboro High School Commons Area beginning at 6:30. District leaders will meet with representatives to gather input for the creation of the district's 2014-15 Budget. Members of each school's School Improvement Teams (SIT), PTA and school community have been selected to participate in this focused dialogue, but all members of the community are invited to attend and observe. For more information, visit the 2014-2015 Budget Website. You can find a link on the CHCCS Main Website.

Also beginning this week, our Theatre Department presents the spring production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

When: Thursday - Saturday, March 20-22 at 7:30 and Sunday, March 23rd at 2:00 PM.

Ticket Prices: $5 for students and $10 for adults, free for CHCCS Faculty/Staff
Reserve your tickets: http://seatyourself.biz/jagtheatre
We hope everyone is able to attend the show!

Lastly, we want to remind all students that online registration for 2014-2015 has closed. However, students should complete the paper copies of their course selections immediately. The Guidance Department will collect these copies beginning Monday, March 17, and ending Friday, March 21st.  If you have questions, you may contact our Guidance Department at (919)918-2200 x. 25999

Thank you so much for your attention to this lengthy message. I appreciate your cooperation in our efforts to continue Carrboro High School's designation as an exemplar NC comprehensive high school.
