Student Announcements for Friday, November 4, 2016

*Jaguar Volleyball Team will play in the State 2A Championship on Sat. Nov. 5 at 12pm at Reynolds Coliseum on the Campus of NC State University ...Admission is $9 Information will be on the Athletic Website later this morning.  This is our first trip to State Finals.  Come out and rock the newly renovated Reynolds Coliseum.  We will be the first high school team to play in the new facility.

*Good luck to Jaguar Football tonight at Reidsville 7:30pm.

*Jaguar Men's Soccer will host Edenton Holmes in the first round of the State Playoffs on Sat. Nov. 5 at 6pm. Admission is $6.00.  CHS athletic passes will not honored for the playoffs.

*Good luck to the Jaguar Men's and Women's Cross Country teams on Sat. Nov. 5 in the State 2A Championship Meet.  Men run at 3:30pm and Women run at 4:30pm.

*CHS Theatre Department presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream November 3 - 5 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, November 6th at 2:30 PM Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and free for CHCCS Faculty and Staff.  Tickets may be purchased at seatyourself.biz/jagtheatre.

*Powder Puff is Monday, November 7th at 6:00pm. Organize a tailgate and come out to support the ladies play football!

Intellectually curious high school students are invited to Splash UNC, an annual event on UNC campus featuring unique classes taught by UNC students. From college admissions to self-defense to DNA, and beyond, students have over 100 classes from which to choose.

WhenSaturday, November 12 from 10 am to 5 pm
Where: UNC campus in Chapel Hill, NC
Cost: $15 program fee to cover the cost of course materials and lunch. Financial assistance is provided to students with need. A student may request financial assistance by emailing splashunc@gmail.com.

Good Luck to our Jaguar Women's Tennis as they travel to play Bartlett Yancey today...match is at 4pm. This the 3rd Round of the Dual Team Tennis Tournament. Go Jags!

The Winter Sports Registration will close on Friday Nov. 4 at 3pm.

Jaguar Volleyball will host Currituck County tonight at 6pm for the 2A Regional Championship. Admission is $7.00. Winner will play in the State Finals on Saturday Nov. 5 at North Carolina State University.  Come out and pack the gym!


*The TRU {Tobacco Reality Unfiltered} Club is having a Mandatory meeting TODAY during B Lunch to get ready for the Great American Smokeout!  Go to E117 & find out how you can help and earn SERVICE LEARNING HOURS!!

*Congratulations to Jaguar Women's Tennis. We defeated South Columbus yesterday 5-0, next round is Thursday Nov. 3 TBA

CATALYST CONFERENCEEvery year, the Catalyst Conference brings a select group of 100 high school students from across North Carolina to UNC-CH for a weekend-long exploration of social justice issues affecting both America and the larger world. Through leadership and personal development sessions, participants are empowered to serve as catalysts for positive change in their own communities.

When: Friday, February 17 - Sunday, February 19
Where: UNC campus in Chapel Hill, NC
Cost : $50 registration fee to help with some of the costs of food and housing for the weekend. Please let us know if you have an interested student with financial need as we may be able to offer a scholarship.
