The Peer Buddy and Special Olympics clubs have joined forces for the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign, an event to build awareness to stop and think about the use of the R-word in society. All of this week we will be in the commons during lunch we will be receiving signatures pledging that we will show respect to all of our students.  Wristbands, stickers and pens will be available!

March Madness Trivia:  Did you know that Carrboro High School Athletics has won 22 State Championships since 2007? Stay tune for more trivia in the coming days! (Ross)


Kara Van Hooser, Assistive Technology specialist, and Debbie Reinhertsen, Speech Language Pathologist from the CIDD, will be giving a "Working Lunch" training Monday on PODD communication (The picture flip-book communication system) during lunch in Mrs. Barry's room.  If you're interested in learning more about PODD plan to bring your lunch & join us in D122. This session will be especially great for Peer Buddies & anyone considering careers in speech therapy, special education or assistive technology. The session will be videotaped for educational training for teachers.


The Epsilon Gamma Chapter of Sigma Pi Phi, is sponsoring a writing competition for male African American students in grades 9-11.  The purpose of the competition is to encourage writing and communication skills among African American males. The first-place winner will receive $750.00, Second Place: $500 and Third Place: $300.  Please get your application from the Main Office.


A representative from Appalachian State University will visit Carrboro High on Friday, March 16th at 9:00 in the CIC.  This is a great opportunity for juniors beginning their college search to learn more information about Appalachian State University.  To attend this college visit please sign up in the white notebook in the CIC.

LAST CHANCE to sign up to go on our Summer Service Trip to Nicaragua! If you've been waiting… NOW is the time to act. Deposit is due next Tuesday. See Mr. Klakovich. There are still a few spots available.


Club presidents, please meet with your club by today, Friday, March 9th, to obtain a club photo and submit it on the form located in the announcements.


Seniors, please make sure to complete the Senior Superlative Survey, located in the daily announcement email, by this Sunday, March 11th.  You get two votes per category. We are looking for the top 2 votes, which can be assigned to any 2 students that you feel best represent that category.  You must be signed into your school account to vote.  Please also feel free to drop by C114 during lunch today to do a final check on your Senior Photo and Quote before pages are submitted.
