Student Announcements: February 17, 2022

Current 9th-11th graders:  be advised of the timeline below for registration for next year's 2022-23 courses.

  • Flex Time launch Fri. 2/18

    • Goal to submit a first draft of seven Primary and two Alternate requests by the end of Flex Time.  You are able to re-submit as many times as you want throughout the registration window.

  • Consultation with teachers, parents, peers, counselors regarding course offerings, recommendations, and selections from Fri. 2/18 through Thurs. 3/24.

  • Individual counselor meetings will occur with all students starting the week of 2/28 through your English courses.

    • 10th and 11th will reference your 4-yr plan document from our classroom sessions.

  • PowerSchool registration window closes 3/24 (tentative).

 

UNC Greensboro will be hosting an information session on Thursday, February 17 at 11:30 am in the front section of the media center. Juniors and seniors may register to attend.

 

The CHS Theatre Department would like to invite all students to be a part of our spring musical, James and the Giant Peach! Students interested in auditioning, teching, or playing in the pit orchestra should check the requirements and complete the online sign-up form found on tinyurl.com/jagtheatreauditions by Monday, February 21st. Auditions are Tuesday, February 22nd or Wednesday, February 23rd from 4:00 - 6:00 PM with callbacks on Thursday, February 24th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM in the CHS Theater. JagTheatre strives for our stage to be a true reflection of our community. As such, all are welcome and encouraged to audition and apply for the spring musical regardless of prior experience. If you don't have materials prepared, they will be provided during the audition time.

The parking spot painting event has been rescheduled!  The junior class council is in charge of planning prom, and this year for one of our fundraisers, we received approval to paint your own parking spot!  Here are the details ...

  • Price per spot: $15

  • Max amount of colors:4 (you can mix colors but 4 colors will be provided per spot)

  • Brushes and Rollers will be provided but we have a limited supply. If you have your own to use, please bring it. 

  • Date: Saturday, February 26, 2022 (subject to change based on the weather!)

ARE YOU GRADUATING IN JUNE??? If so, then it's time to start placing your senior orders.  You are just a point and click away: Senior SWAG items are pre-delivered and will ship to your home address. Please note the Cap/Gown and Graduation Paper products will ship to the school in the spring. CHS Football Announcement There will be a Football Interest Meeting during the second half of lunch on Friday February 18th.  If you are interested in playing, please come for this very brief meeting. Meeting will begin promptly at 12:30pm.


Tri M Benefit Concert The CHS Tri M Music Honor Society will host a benefit concert this coming Monday, February 21 at 7pm in the Cafe Commons. All proceeds will go to support the Marian Cheek Jackson Center. The event will feature student performances, a 50/50 raffle, and a take-home bake sale. We hope to see you there!



Good luck to our Jaguar Women's Basketball Team tonight vs Southern Durham in the semi-finals of the NLAC Conference Tournament! Game time is 6pm. Go Jags!


Men's Basketball will host South Granville tonight at 6:30pm in the semi-finals of the NLAC Conference Tournament. Game time is 6:30pm. Student ID's and Athletic Passes cannot be honored for post season contests. Tickets are on GoFan.co   $8.00.  Go Jags!
